How much does it cost to recycle my old mattress?

The cost varies depending on how Soft Landing receives your mattress, and the location of the recycling centre. Is mattress recycling really worth it?

Yes. We can’t express enough how much of an impact mattress recycling has on sustainability. From a case study conducted by Climate Choices, 1.8 million mattresses find their way to landfills every year. To put that into perspective, a mattress with pocket springs can have up to 2000 springs. That’s potentially three billion six hundred million springs going to waste every year, not to mention the timber, husk, fabric and foam that’s also going to waste. So, yes, it’s definitely worth recycling your old mattress.

Can any mattress be recycled?

Soft Landing can recycle foam, latex and innerspring mattresses. If your mattress isn’t one of these listed, you can still contact your local recycling centre, landfill, or Soft Landing centre. They might be able to provide some additional information on how to best recycle your mattress or dispose of it in an eco-friendly way.
